Today around 12.30 GMT, BTC has crossed $50,000 for the first time in its 12 year history. Shortly after that BTC set a new all-time high price of $50,492, after which it retraced to lower levels.
This marks another milestone for the oldest cryptocurrency, with high hopes it will continue to perform, although many experts think a correction could arrive soon. But opinions are varied, and many investors also target a price of around $60,000 for the near term, and over $70,000 by the years end.
If the upward trend continues, next big milestone will be when after $54,000 is crossed as that price will achieve a $1 Trillion market capitalization for BTC. Current overall cryptocurrency market went over $1.5 Trillion, for the first time this Monday.
